Curling Club to Break Ground

After a fire in December, 2011 destroyed the Norfolk Curling Club, enough funds have been raised for the organization to begin rebuilding.

According to a recent newsletter, the Norfolk Curling Club will break ground on a new facility on Friday at 11:00am.

In the letter to supporters, President Mary Fanette wrote, "I want to thank each of you for the time and effort you have contributed to help us reach this point. There is much more to do and decide and many funds to raise, but I think we should all be very proud of what we have achieved. We have a very exciting future ahead of us."

According to the club, the foundation will be built this fall. By December, the steel building parts will be delivered with final work taking place in the spring.

Officials expect the club to be fully restored and operational in time for the 2013-2014 season.
