New Britain Shooting

Police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting of a man on Dwight Street in New Britain. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but is in stable condition. The shooting is not believed to be random, police said. 


Shooting Spurs S.W.A.T. Operation

Hartford police are searching for four men in a shooting that activated the S.W.A.T. team Wednesday. Someone was shot in the face on Burton Street and found nearby on Garden Street, police said. S.W.A.T. teams moved in on a building they thought the suspects were in and evacuated the building, but did not find any suspects. The victim is in critical condition, police said.


Runaway Boat Sends Man to Prison

A Madison man will spend the next four years in prison for a boating accident that killed a South Windsor woman. Gregory Seige, 46, was drunk when he fell off his boat on the Connecticut River near Old Saybrook in 2007, according to prosecutors.  His boat hit a sailboat and killed Susan Brandes, 53. Seige pleaded no contest to second degree manslaughter.
