Teens Accused of Running Drug Factory

Police say the operation was out of a home

Two teenage boys from Fairfield are accused of running a drug factory out of a house -- a house in which one teen lives with his father and younger brother, according to news reports.

Fairfield and Bridgeport police raided the Bibbins Avenue house on Monday afternoon and found quite a drug operation, police said – a large tank of nitrous oxide, more than one pound of marijuana, several methamphetamine pills, three digital scales, several cell phones, many drug related paraphernalia, and just over $800.00.

Sotirios Georgakopoulos, 18, and Pema Tenzin, 18, were arrested. Georgakopoulos lives at the house with his dad, the Danbury News-Times reports. The father was not home at the time of the raid.

Police investigated for about a month after getting complaints about drug activity at the house, the News-Times reports. On Monday, more than one dozen officers, some with K9s, descended on the house and broke down the door.

Several people inside fled and made an unsuccessful attempt at evading police by locking themselves into two bedrooms, according to a News-Times report.

Tenzin tossed a bag of meth out the window, cops said, but they found it.

Both suspects are facing several charges including possession and intent to sell illegal substances and operating a drug factory.

Tenzin was charged with tampering with evidence.
Georgakopoulos and Tenzin were both taken into custody.  They are being held on $250,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 11.

Police told the News-Times “additional charges are possible against some more people.”
