Firefighters responded to a fire on Route 12 in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard Friday morning.
The two-alarm fire broke out in a commercial building in the 1600 block of Route 12, according to the Gales Ferry Volunteer Fire Company.
Fire officials are asking people to avoid the area.
