Hamden Police Arrest Suspect in Home Invasion

Hamden police have arrested a man accused of breaking into a home and assaulting two people.

Police said Reggie Ulmer, 26, of New Haven, forced his way into a home on Carleton Street on Friday around 11:30 p.m. The mother of Ulmer’s child lives in the home, police said.

According to police, Ulmer tried to attack the mother of his child, but a male relative intervened. Ulmer struck him several times and tried to stab him. Ulmer also punched a female relative that was in the house before fleeing.

Police located Ulmer on Barraclough Road where he was arrested. He was charged with home invasion, criminal attempt to commit assault, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
