East Hartford Man Injured in Hartford Shooting

One person was injured in an early morning shooting on James Street in Hartford Tuesday.

Police said they responded at 2:13 a.m. for reports of multiple shots fired from citizens and notifications from the Shot Spotter system. When officers arrived they found casings, blood, cellphones, and a plastic bag that appeared to contain crack cocaine in the parking lot of 69 James Street.

Meanwhile, the victim showed up at Hartford Hospital via private vehicle with non-life threatening injuries to his right arm and leg. He was unable to provide any suspect description to police.

Police identified the victim as a 35-year-old male from East Hartford. Police said he is a convicted felon with 18 previous Hartford arrests.

Police said there were two vehicles with bullet hole damage at the scene, and evidence suggests there was an exchange of gunfire during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
