A man has died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 84 in East Hartford on Tuesday night.
State police said 28-year-old Randy Casado, of New York, was in the HOV lane on the westbound side of the highway near exit 58 when he was struck by a vehicle.
Casado was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was taken to Saint Francis Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. A passenger in the vehicle was not injured.

At one point in the evening, several lanes of traffic on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway were closed. The highway has since reopened.
