Malfunctioning Machine Replaced at New Britain Polling Site

Ballot tabulating machines at some New Britain locations are acting up according to the city’s republican registrar. At the eighth district, volunteers replaced a malfunctioning machine, storing uncounted ballots to be scanned after the polls close.

The polls for the Connecticut primary have been opened since 6 a.m. Tuesday and volunteers at a polling place in New Britain had to replace some equipment. 

The city’s Republican registrar said ballot tabulating machines at some locations are acting up. At the eighth district, volunteers replaced a malfunctioning machine, storing uncounted ballots to be scanned after the polls close. 

The moderator said all will be counted.  

The Republican registrar said the problem with the tabulating machines is not unusual.
