Man Dropped Cocaine While Checking into Hotel: Ledyard Police

Ledyard police arrested a man after cocaine fell out of his pocket while he was checking in to a hotel, according to police.

Ryan Laplante, 21, of South Attleboro, Mass. was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana.

Police said Foxwoods security was called to the Fox Tower Saturday night for reports of an intoxicated person, later identified as Laplante, on the property. Security drove Laplante to the Two Trees hotel to get a room. Security reported that while Laplante was paying for his room, a baggie of cocaine fell out of his pocket, at which point security called Ledyard police.

Laplante was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 15
