A Mansfield Center man accused of having more than 300 photos and videos of child pornography turned himself in to state police on Wednesday, April 4.
Police obtained a search warrant search John David Carlton’s home on Nov. 20, 2007 after an image of child pornography was emailed by an account registered to him, state police said.
A forensic examination of Carlton’s computer turned up 246 images and 68 videos of child pornography, state police said.
Seventy-four of the images and 11 videos contained child victims who law enforcement identified in past investigations, police said.
Carlton turned himself in on an outstanding arrest warrant, posted $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on April 18.
He was charged with promoting a minor in an obscene performance, first-degree possession of child pornography and obscenity.
