A West Haven man led police on a chase into a swamp while officers were executing felony search warrants on Sunday, according to police.
As police confronted Justin Dauphinais, 30, at his 580 Main Street residence, he ran away and into a wooded swamp area, police said.
Police continued to chase Dauphinais, who was combative, police said.
Officers eventually subdued him and charged him with sixth-degree larceny, two counts of third-degree assault, risk of injury to a child and additional charges.
He was held on $80,000 bond and is due in court in Milford today.
