Police are investigating after a shooting on Route 5 in South Windsor left one injured.
Police said a driver in a 1987 Suzuki Samurai was leaving a car show on Nutmeg South Road and was stopped to turn onto John Fitch Boulevard at Strong Road just after 5:30 p.m. when a charcoal gray four-door Mercedes with dark tints and a yellow license plate pulled up along the passenger side of the Suzuki and a back seat passenger in the Mercedes started firing a gun, hitting the Suzuki twice and one passenger in the vehicle was shot.
The victim was located in East Windsor, where he was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
The driver of the Mercedes fled north on Route 5, police said. Police said the vehicle might have a New York registration.
