Police are investigating a shooting that happened near Dixwell Avenue in Hamden on Monday afternoon.
Officers say they were called to Warren Street near First Street around 12:40 p.m. after getting a report of shots fired.
Investigators determined that the shooting involved two vehicles. They say one of the occupants of one of the vehicles was shot and transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
An initial investigation indicates that the shooting was not a random incident.
