Police said they responded to the area of 152 Amherst St. after receiving a call from someone reporting a person shot.
When officers arrived at the scene, police said they saw an unresponsive man in the driveway of the home. He was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.
Police have identified the man as 19-year-old Makhi Buckly, of Hartford. Buckly did not live at the home, according to officials.

Lt. Aaron Boisvert told NBC Connecticut that detectives have some people of interest that they're speaking to, but their role is yet to be determined.
"This was not random violence. This was certainly a targeted attack. These two individuals clearly knew each other," said Boisvert.

Boisvert said this is a "very, very quiet street."
Officials are processing evidence they retrieved at the scene and are asking anyone with information to contact police at 860-722-TIPS.
The incident remains under investigation.
