Car Damages Norwich Motorcycle Shop

The owner of Patch & Leather Motorcycle Shop in Norwich was surpised to see a car had crashed into his building early Monday morning.

There's a plywood patch over the hole in "Patch and Leather" left by the car that plowed through the cinder block wall of the motorcycle gear shop just after midnight Monday in Norwich.

No one was in the store at the time of the crash, but the shop owner, Al Agolio, had a rude awakening when he got the call telling him what had happened.

"When I went around the corner," he said, "then I noticed somebody was illegally parked in my building."

Police are keeping the name of the driver secret but Agolio said he's been told police found him down the road on Central Avenue from the shop, located at the corner of Boswell and North Main Street in Norwich.

Agolio figured he lost a couple thousand dollars worth of motorcycle parts, but he didn't lose the big-ticket items, motorcycles.

"In the winter time I put 'em in the back," he said. "We just got done putting 'em in the back."
