Cars Stolen from Driveways Overnight in Simsbury

Simsbury police are reminding residents to lock their cars after two vehicles were stolen out of driveways overnight.

Police say sometime overnight Friday into Saturday two vehicles were stolen – one from the driveway at 42 Massaco Street, and another from the driveway at 7 Griffin Street. Both vehicles were unlocked with keys left inside.

Several unlocked cars were also entered and searched through in the area, including Carver Circle.

Earlier in the week a vehicle was stolen from the driveway at 14 Simsbury Manor and several other unlocked vehicles were rummaged through by unknown suspects.

Police offer the following tips to protect your property:

  • Don’t leave valuables in vehicles
  • Always lock vehicles
  • Do not leave keys in vehicles
  • Use exterior lights and/or motion sensor lights around your property.
  • Report any suspicious activity to police.

Police are investigating the incidents and increasing patrols. Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call Simsbury police at (860) 658-3100.

Other area towns such as Windsor, South Windsor, Vernon and Wethersfield have all issued similar warnings in recent weeks.
