According to the Hartford Courant, 15-year-old Hannah Patrie was fading out of consciousness and struggling to breathe after reportedly suffering from a seizure. The Hartford Courant reports that she stopped breathing and CPR was performed and a defibrillator was set up.

The Hartford Courant reports that a school performance scheduled for Friday night was canceled. School Superintendent Kate Carter sent an email Friday evening informing all staff members and families.

"It is with great sadness that I share the heartbreaking news that Hannah Patrie, a South Windsor High School student, died this evening," the message reads as reported by The Hartford Courant.

"I know the entire South Windsor community joins me in keeping the Patrie family in our thoughts and prayers."
