NBC Connecticut

State police said they were assisting the Department of Homeland Security with an investigation at Electric Blue in Tolland Thursday morning.

State police and the Department of Homeland Security descended on the Electric Blue Cafe in Tolland Thursday morning.

The town manager's office was notified Thursday morning by the Tolland resident state trooper that state police and federal law enforcement agencies were searching the property at 62 Merrow Road.

State police said they were assisting the Department of Homeland Security with the investigation.

Several state police cruisers and the Eastern District Major Crimes Squad mobile vehicle were seen in the club's parking lot.

According to the notice to the town, the state police and the Tolland resident state trooper have been conducting an ongoing criminal investigation related to the strip club.

The resident trooper notified the town that investigators believe that prostitution and sexual activity have occurred on the premises for several year, up until present time, according to the official notice to the town manager's office.

In another case in 2021, the strip club was ordered to remove photos of a group of women used in their advertisements without their consent.

Town officials say they couldn’t comment further on specifics.

We did email the listed owners of the strip club for comment and a response to the allegations from police, but haven’t heard back.

After being notified of the investigation, Tolland suspended the club's license to operate for 30 days, according to town manager Brian Foley.
