Up, Up and Away …Again!

Meer vluchten! Dutch for "more flights", Bradley Airport celebrates the re-introduction of flights to Amsterdam.

Have a hankering for Amsterdam?  You'll again be able to hop a direct flight from Bradley in Windsor Locks to Schiphol in Amsterdam.

This is the only nonstop service to Europe from Connecticut.

Governor M. Jodi Rell made the announcement at Bradley early Tuesday morning.

This is a second attempt for the carrier, Northwest Airlines, which ended its daily flight in October, citing high fuel costs.

Five weekly flights will be offered (one a day, except Tuesday and Friday) using a 160-passenger jet.  Passengers will depart Bradley at 5:40 p.m. and arrive in Amsterdam just before 7 a.m.

The flights are scheduled to begin again on June 2, 2009.
