U.S. Marshals Track Down Man Suspected of Sex Assaulting Girl in New London

A 53-year-old man who’s accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in New London has been taken into custody in Virginia.

Police started investigating on Nov. 25, 2014 when the complaint was filed, determined that DNA evidence linked Willie J. Rollins to the girl and obtained a warrant.

With assistance from the United States Marshal's Office, police found Rollins in Chesapeake, Virginia and he was taken into custody. He is known to the victim, police said.

Rollins is being held as a fugitive from justice and is pending extradition back to Connecticut for first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

No mug shot has been released.
