Towns Cancel Memorial Day Events Due to Rain

The following list of cancelations might not be complete. Please check with your town for the status of its Memorial Day parade.

Some towns are changing Memorial Day plans due to rainy weather in the forecast.

Avon:

Avon has canceled its parade, but the indoor ceremonies will be held.

Berlin:

The Berlin Memorial Day parade is canceled, but the ceremony will be held at the VFW at 9 a.m. 

Bethany:

In Bethany, the parade is off, but the Bethany Lions will conduct a ceremony at Town Hall beginning at 10 a.m.

Bristol:

Bristol has canceled the Forestville Memorial Day Tribute Parade for the second year in a row.

Canton:

Canton has canceled the parade and outdoor ceremony, but will proceed with a ceremony in the Canton High School auditorium at 10 a.m.

Coventry:

The Coventry Memorial Day Parade is canceled. 

Danbury:

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton announced on Twitter that the city had decided to cancel its parade. There will still be a memorial mass at St. Joseph's church at 6:30 a.m.

East Haven:

Memorial Day ceremonies have been moved to the East Haven American Legion Post 89 at 574 Thompson Ave. They start at 11:30 a.m.

Fairfield:

Fairfield has canceled its parade and there is no rain date.

Farmington:

The parades in Unionville and Farmington have been canceled. The Veterans event will still be held at Town Hall at noon.

Hamden:

The Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at Hamden Middle School at 11 a.m.

Madison:

Madison has canceled its parade.

Manchester:

In Manchester, the parade has been canceled, but a program will be held at the Full Gospel Interdenominational Church on Main Street at 11 a.m.

Norwalk:

The Norwalk Memorial Day parade has been canceled, according to police.

Old Saybrook:

Old Saybrook has also canceled its parades.

Rocky Hill:

Rocky Hill has canceled its parade. A ceremony will be held at the VFW on Main Street at 9:30 a.m.

Simsbury:

A ceremony will be held in Simsbury at the Eno Hall at 1:30 p.m. The parade has been canceled.

South Windsor:

The South Windsor Memorial Day parade is canceled, but the Memorial Day ceremony and service at Veteran's Memorial Park on Pleasant Valley Road at 11 a.m. will be held. 

Tariffville:

The Tariffville parade has been canceled, but there will be a ceremony at Trinity Church at 9 a.m.

Vernon:

Vernon has canceled its Memorial Day Parade.

Wallingford:

Wallingford has canceled its parade, but there will be a 10 a.m. ceremony at Lyman Hall High School.

West Hartford:

The West Hartford Memorial Day parade has been canceled.

West Haven:

The parade in West Haven has been canceled.

Westport:

Westport has canceled its parade, but the Memorial Day ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. at town hall auditorium. 

Windsor:

The Town of Windsor has canceled the Memorial Day Parade and outdoor services that were scheduled at Elm Grove and Veterans cemeteries Monday.

There will still be a ceremony inside the Windsor Town Hall Council Chambers. It begins at 10 a.m.

The NBC Connecticut meteorologists are forecasting rain across the state.
