A 25-year-old British tourist was killed in Jerusalem Friday, officials said, as Christians packed the city for Good Friday and Jews celebrated Passover, NBC News reported.
A 57-year-old Palestinian is suspected of stabbing the woman multiple times with what appeared to be a kitchen knife on the city's light rail system, according to hospital and police officials.
Two other people, a 30-year-old pregnant woman and a 50-year-old man, were also hurt as the attack unfolded, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service, but they may not have been stabbed.
It's the latest in a two-year wave stabbings and assaults by Palestinians on Israeli civilians and security forces that had, before Friday, claimed the lives of 42 Israelis and two visiting Americans.
