Channing Tatum became the first male guest to play “Box of Lies,” the game of mistrust and ridiculous objects, breaking a long streak of female opponents.
The star of “Magic Mike” stopped by “The Tonight Show” Wednesday to promote his latest project ”Foxcatcher,” and talked about producing “Magic Mike 2” as well as, possibly, an Evil Knievel biopic.
Fallon then challenged Tatum to test his acting skills, on air, by playing a game of “Box Of Lies.”
“Because that is what we are all about, live TV and unpredictability,” said Fallon. “Let’s see what chops you’ve got.”

The game required that contestants pick a box, and either describe the ridiculous items inside, or make up a lie about the contents. If the other player could correctly guess whether the description was the truth or a lie, that player won.
The “Foxcatcher” star kicked off with an attempted lie, or half-lie. His box contained a Chewbacca action figure stuck in a Jell-O mold, but the actor strayed a little by suggesting that the doll was instead a bowl of chili frozen in Jell-O.
“You can’t freeze gelatin, you lie!” said Fallon.

Next, it was “The Tonight Show” hosts turn. Fallon didn’t fair any better at attempting to trick Tatum with his “teabag thread connected to a sugar cube” lie.
At this point, the game is tied. The “22 Jump Street” star picked another box, which contained a stuffed E.T. doll, swaddled inside a sleeping bag with crowns on it. He went for the truth on this one, because sometimes the truth is even stranger than fiction.
“You lie,” said Fallon. Unfortunately, Tatum was telling the truth and declared the winner.
