Sen. Sasse Addresses Importance of Religious Liberty: ‘It's None of the Business of This Committee'

Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., used his opening remarks to affirm the fundamental right to religious liberty and claimed that Democratic members of the committee have attacked Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s faith. However, Democratic senators made clear in advance of the hearing that they didn’t plan to question the judge on the specifics of her religious faith.
