It didn't meet expectations, but voter turnout across CT was still pretty high on Tuesday. Preliminary results show that more than 80 percent of registered voters came out to cast their ballots.
Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz had predicted a 90 percent voter turnout across Connecticut. The 80.3 percent is still higher than the 78.6 percent voter turnout in 2004 and the 77.5 percent turnout in 2000.
Eleven of the state's 169 cities and towns have yet to submit their final figures to the state.
