Wesleyan Ends Drought Against Amherst with Buzzer Beater

Wesleyan junior Jeremy Kaminer has probably dreamed of this shot his entire life -- a game winning 30-foot buzzer beater.

On Tuesday in Middletown, Kaminer did just that, and to top it off his shot ended a Wesleyan 16-game losing streak against Amherst.

Amherst had tied the game at 69 with 6.7 seconds remaining.  Then Wesleyan inbounded the ball to Kaminer who raced up the sideline into a double-team and launched a 30-foot prayer that kissed the glass and fell in as the buzzer sounded giving the Cardinals the 72-69 win.

It was Kaminer's fourth three-pointer of the game and it gave him a career high 23 points.

The last time Wesleyan had defeated Amherst was Feb. 9, 2001 and had not won a home game against Amherst since Jan. 13, 1999.
