Neighbors Recall Explosion That Leveled New Haven Home

Fire investigators are still trying to figure out what caused an explosion that leveled the Santos family?s house on Howard Avenue in New Haven on Saturday morning and neighbors say what they witnessed over the weekend is unlike anything they have ever seen before.There is nothing left of the house at 305 Howard Avenue, but all five members of the family were able to make it out safely before the house collapsed. The power had been out that morning. When it came back on, the house caught fire.
