Yale Professor Wins Nobel Prize in Medicine

Two Americans, including a Yale University professor, have won the Nobel Prize in medicine.James E. Rothman, professor of biomedical sciences at Yale; Randy W. Schekman, professor of cell and developmental biology at the University of California, Berkeley; and German-born Thomas C. Suedhof, professor in the School of Medicine at Stanford University, won for their discoveries of how hormones, enzymes and other key materials are transported within cells, a process known as “vesicle traffic.”
