The NBC Connecticut meteorologists are tracking some heavy rain that continues into Sunday and could impact your Memorial Day weekend plans.

Rain is falling across the state and is expected to continue overnight.

Scattered showers and patchy drizzle are in the forecast for Saturday with temperatures running very cool. Highs will be in the lower 50s.

Saturday night should be mostly clear.

On Sunday, there is a 50% chance of rain. Showers will continue off and on with temperatures in the upper 60s.

Two to three inches of rain are possible in the southern half of the state over the weekend, with one to two inches of rain more likely for the northern half of the state.

Eversource reported very scattered power outages Friday night. The rain and windy conditions knocked out power to just under 1,000 customers as of 11:30 p.m.

The sun returns on Monday, which looks like the best day of the long weekend.
