Hone your dodging skills along with your balling skills. We're all about dodge ball tonight.

IF YOU CAN DODGE A WRENCH: Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller may have single-handedly resurrected Dodge ball in this country.  And for that, gym teachers everywhere owe them an everlasting debt of gratitude.  And all dodge ball lovers can rejoice tonight, at the 5th annual Adult Dodge Ball Tournament.  The tourney begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport.  Teams of up to 9 men and/or women can take part for an entry fee of $600.  Think that's a bit steep?  Consider this:  the money goes to the Center's After School programs, which provide enriching educational and recreational activities for the city's children.  Plus, after the last ball is dodged, the fun continues at a local bar and your first drink on the house!  Enjoy, and remember the five D's of dodge ball; dodge, duck, dip, dive and... dodge.

BASED ON A DARE:  Ah, Haggis.  The national food of Scotland (we made that up, but it could be true).  A sheep's stomach packed to the hilt with sheep's organs, onion, oatmeal, spices and more, then simmered for hours.  Now that's what we call gourmet!  Why do we bring up this delicious delicacy?  Because tonight at the Hungry Tiger in Manchester, you can enjoy haggis to your heart's content.  But not the food.  Toronto-based Celtic Rockers Enter the Haggis will take the stage.  Tickets are $15.  The show starts at 9 p.m.

GRAB A SPOON:  It may be one of the true unsung holidays on the calendar.  Yes friends, we're talking about National Ice Cream Day!  No matter what you're politics, we can all agree that this is President Reagan's greatest achievement.  Mr. Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month back in 1984 (with Ice Cream Day as the third Sunday of the month).  It's a time when we all pause for a moment and scream for ice cream (from hard pack, to gelato to soft serve and everything in between).  And to amp up your frozen custard fun, head down to the Omni Hotel in New Haven tonight for a free scoop.  From 4 p.m.-6 p.m, the Omni will serve Haagen-Dazs ice cream (vanilla and chocolate), along with classic toppings like whipped cream, brownie, chocolate chip cookies and more.  Enjoy!
