Stephanie O’Connell is a Senior Assignment Editor at NBC Connecticut, where she has worked for nearly 15 years helping to oversee daily news coverage and coordinate breaking news across the state.

After graduating from West Virginia University, she began her journalism career as a sports reporter at a local Connecticut newspaper before expanding her reporting experience to features and general assignment coverage.

Stephanie works closely with reporters, producers, and the digital team to track developing stories, deploy crews, and ensure accurate, timely information reaches viewers on all platforms.

In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys crocheting blankets for pets and attending sporting events with friends. She firmly believes that every activity is better when dogs are involved.
