Juvenile in Custody After Stolen Car Crash in Avon

A juvenile is in police custody after a car that was stolen from Farmington got into a crash in Avon Tuesday afternoon, according to Avon police.

West Hartford police contacted Avon police around 3 p.m. Tuesday and reported that a white 2012 Toyota Camry was heading west on Route 44, or Avon Mountain, according to police.

West Hartford police ended the chase once the car entered Avon and Avon police tried to stop it, but the driver drove into the path of the Avon police vehicle and forced it off the road, police said.

The Camry collided with another vehicle on East Main Street, near Mountain View Avenue, police said. Another car was also involved in the crash and minor injuries are reported.

The juvenile who was driving the car was taken into custody.
