Man Killed at Enfield Motel

The man was stabbed several times at Motel 6.

A man has died after being stabbed several times at a motel in Enfield on Thursday night.

The homicide is the first this year in Enfield.

Police received a report of a fight at Motel 6, at 11 Hazard Ave. around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday and found a man who had been stabbed multiple times in the torso, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at Bay State Hospital. A woman who had been stabbed was treated at a hospital and released. The relationship between the woman and man is not known.

Police dogs were brought in to search for the knife, but did not find anything.

Officers are looking through motel surveillance video to determine who committed the stabbing and they are waiting for a judge to sign a search warrant so they can get into several motel rooms and process the crime scene.

“We haven't released any suspect info because we don't have any. It’s still being developed through witnesses and interviews by detectives. When we do have suspect information, we will get it out there,” Captain Jeff Golden, of the Enfield Police Department, said.

Police said they are looking for one person in connection with the fatal stabbing.

State police are assisting Enfield police.
