Massage Parlor Busted for Prostitution For 2nd Time

Not long after an East Haven massage parlor was raided and shut down for suspected prostitution, the business reopened and continued the activities that had it closed in the first place, according to police.

Now its owner is facing additional charges.

Police said the Tokyo Leisure Club at 214 Main Street was first raided in May, along with three other establishments, as part of an ongoing prostitution investigation. In late October, authorities shut it down and charged the owner, In Ok Smith, with promoting second-degree prostitution.

The massage parlor had since reopened, and on Oct. 21, police searched both the Tokyo Leisure Club and a residence at 28 Duncan Street for a second time, police said.

Smith was arrested again Nov. 5 and charged with promoting third-degree prostitution.

She was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is due in court Nov. 13.
