Emergency crews are continuing to repair a sewer main that collapsed on Post Road East in Westport on Thursday and the work is expected to continue through the night, according to the police department.
Police said the main collapsed on Thursday evening in the area of 468 Post Road. Only lane has been open in each direction while crews repair the broken pipe. Now, police say they expect workers to continue through the night.
Authorities are warning drivers to expect delays until the project is completed.
Police expect the road to fully reopen by afternoon on Saturday and are urging drivers to take a different route during the morning commute.
