Connecticut's Shabazz Napier has been named the Big East's player of the week after leading the Huskies to consecutive overtime wins.
Napier scored 18 points, including eight in overtime, to help UConn (15-5, 5-3 Big East) to an 82-79 win at Providence on Thursday. He followed that up Sunday by scoring 11 of his 24 points in overtime to lead the Huskies back from a 12-point halftime deficit and a 69-64 win over South Florida.
Napier hit 11 of his 19 shots and was 8-of-13 from 3-point range during the two games.
This is Napier's second player of the week award this season. He also earned the honor in November after helping the Huskies to a 4-0 start.
