Connecticut Has 10th Lowest Obesity Rate: Gallup Poll

A recent gallup.com poll ranks Connecticut as the state with the 10th lowest obesity rate in the company.

According to the poll, nearly 25 percent of people in Connecticut are obese.

By comparison, Hawaii was the only state in which less than one in five residents, 19 percent, are considered obese, according to gallup.com.

Colorado, Montana, California, Massachusetts, Idaho, South Dakota, New York and Minnesota also made the list of the 10 lowest obesity rates.

In contrast, Mississippi topped the rankings of states with the highest obesity rates at 35.2. West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri were also on that list.
