Contractor Employee and Friend Burglarized From Home He Worked: Police

Police arrested a contractor working on a home in Shelton and his friend, who are suspected of stealing electronics from the house and obtaining funds with a personal check from the residents, police said.

Kacie Morgan, 25, of Stratford, and March Baillargeon, 29, of Milford, are facing charges of third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

Shelton police launched an investigation in September after receiving a report of a burglary at a home. The homeowners told police that electronics were missing from their home, but that there was no forced entry and that they suspected one of the people employed to do construction work on their home was responsible for the missing item.

About a week after the homeowners reported the burglary, their bank contacted them to let them know one of their personal checks was deposited in a Norwalk bank account. Police were led to Baillargeon, one of the contractors working on the couple's home, and his friend, Morgan in their investigation and learned they used a third party to deposit the check in their account so they could take out the money, police said.

Officers got warrants for Morgan and Baillargeon. They arrested Morgan on Dec. 17 and Baillargeon turned himself into police on Dec. 19.
