Dunkin Donuts Store Robbed, Clerk Shot

Police are investigating after a clerk was shot during a robbery at a Dunkin Donuts in New Haven Wednesday night.

Two masked man with guns entered the Dunkin Donuts shop at  255 Kimberly Ave just after 9:00 p.m.

According to police, a male employee was shot in the lower back in a botched robbery attempt. He was taken to Yale-New Haven hospital and being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects also stole $25.00 from a man who was there with his two children, said police. They were not harmed.

Investigators believe the two men fled in a white Honda.

Just three miles away, a Dunkin Donuts store at 470 Derby Ave in West Haven was also held up by two men. Police have not confirmed if the two robberies are related.
