Fire Marshal Investigates Cause of Milford House Fire

The Milford Fire Marshal is investigating what caused a house fire early Wednesday morning.

Fire dispatchers received a 911 call shortly before 4 a.m. reporting a fire in a home on Windsong Lane. Fire officials said the fire was reported by a neighbor who happened to see it from their home.

When crews arrived, they said they found the rear porch area of the home heavily on fire with it extending to the attic. Multiple hose lines were quickly deployed to try and extinguish the flames.

The fire was brought under control in 25 minutes, firefighters said, but rekindled hours later. Fire crews said it was extinguished without incident.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire, but the homeowner and his family were scheduled to move into the home at the end of the week, according to fire officials.

The Milford Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
