New London Police say a man was hit while walking on Walden Avenue at approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
The man was leaving a convenience store when he was struck, the New London Day reports.
Investigators say the car did not stop, but a witness was able to write down the license plate number. New London Police tracked down the car and are interviewing the owner.
The name of the victim has not been released but investigators say he is in serious condition at a local hospital.
