As cold weather lingers into March, Gov. Dannel Malloy has reactivated the state's Severe Cold Weather Protocol.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the teens and single digits over the next few nights, and the protocol is effective through Wednesday morning.
While the protocol is in place, the state Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security will use an emergency Internet system to share information about shelter capacity and conditions around the state.
Anyone in need of shelter is urged to call 211.
Malloy also encouraged communities to open warming centers.
