Police Arrest Man Accused of Robbing Bank Twice in 2 Months

Police have arrested the man accused of robbing a Wallingford banks twice in two months.

Hakin Salam, 48, of Howard Avenue in New Haven, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the robberies of a First Niagara Bank at 316 Main Street in Wallingford on Oct. 17 and Dec. 10, 2013. Salem is accused of committing both robberies.

Salam was charged while in custody for a Jan. 27 bank robbery in Middletown, police said. He’s due in court this afternoon and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
