The Wilton Loop of the Norwalk River Valley Trail has been closed due to coyote activity, Wilton police said.
Wilton Police Department received a report regarding an encounter between a dog and a coyote on the Wilton Loop, south of Sharp Hill Road. Though the dog was on a leash, it ran from its owner when the coyote appeared. The dog was not injured.
The Animal Control Officer has been notified and is working with representatives of the Norwalk River Valley Trail to ensure a safe re-opening of the trail, according to Wilton police.
