NASCAR Homeboy Returns

With one stop Thursday night, you can fulfill your desires to tear stuff down, build stuff up and see one of the fastest young race car drivers in the country right now.

Middletown favorite fast guy, Joey Logano, is swinging into the neighborhood Thursday night before heading up to New Hampshire for this weekend’s race.

"Anytime I head to the Northeast, it’s exciting for me,” he told Scene Daily. “There’s always tons of friends and family around, and people are always letting me know they are from Connecticut and rooting for me. I am heading back to Middletown, where my family is from, to do a Home Depot store appearance on Thursday before heading to New Hampshire. I can’t wait; that should be a ton of fun.”

The 19-year-old who already has a cup win will be mingling with his fans at Home Depot in Middletown from 5 to 7 p.m., where’s he’ll sign some autographs. He just so happens to be sponsored by the home improvement store.

We’re not sure how long he’s sticking around in Connecticut, but he has to be at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend, where he’ll return to the site where he won his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, according to Motorsport.com.

That happened in June.

“I am pretty excited to be heading back to New Hampshire as the most recent winner,” Logano told SceneDaily. “I think every driver holds a special place for their first win, and I was fortunate to have mine at the closest track to where I first began racing. That’s pretty cool.”
