LIVE AND LOCAL:  Who doesn't love live music?  Some of Connecticut's best will be on display tonight at The Space in Hamden.  Your Suburban Nightmare, Orcumentary, Until The Day Dawns, Hold on to Your Handguns and Fate on Canvas provide a night of alternative and hard rock.  Tickets are just $10.  7PM

FREE NOIR:  Let's face it, we're still a long way away from getting out of the recession, so who wouldn't love an evening of free entertainment.  Every Wednesday, Hygienic Art Park in New London offers their Summer Flickers.  Tonight's feature is Double Indemnity, Billy Wilder's 1944 classic movie starring Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck.  It's the story of an insurance rep that lets himself be talked into a murder/insurance fraud scheme, but it all catches the eye of an insurance investigator.  Hmm.  Sounds pretty relevant even today.  Free!  8-11PM

ALL ABOUT CULTURE:  Looking for a little more bargain entertainment that is sure to show off your cultured side?  Head to New Haven and the Elm Shakespeare Company for their production of Moliere's "The Imaginary Invalid".  (Face it, just being able to pronounce Moliere should win you points).  "The Imaginary Invalid" is a French play, first performed in 1673 (that's at least 5 or 10 years before the invention of the Internet).  It's a three-act comedy about a hypochondriac who has his problems exploited by his wife.  There are fake deaths, fights over money and attempts to break up other marriages (sounds like a great plot for a prime-time soap opera).  Tickets are $20 and under.  Show time is 8PM -- and be sure to bring a lawn chair or a blanket.
