    "Black Swan" Writer to Speak at UNH

    “Black Swan” screenwriter John McLaughlin's film has been called a "deeply dark" story that sends viewers on "pitch of frenzy and sends us hurtling toward the finish," Next week, McLaughlin will be making at stop at the University of New Havento speak with students.

    "Black Swan” was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture and Natalie Portman won the Best Actress award for her role in the film.

    McLaughlin's visit happens on Monday, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Dodds Theatre.

    When he spoke at the University of Tampa last month, a theater at the school was standing room only,

    McLaughlin lives in New York City and writes for film and television.

    His latest projects include “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho,” with actor Anthony Hopkins; and Tom Clancy’s “Splinter Cell."

    He is also currently working on a miniseries remake of “Coma” for A&E, as well as a series called “River View Tower.”
