Matt Prichard has covered politics for NBC10 Boston since August of 2023 and is the host of "@Issue Sit Down with Matt Prichard," a long-form political interview segment airing on Sunday before "Meet the Press."
Broadcast journalism requires a lot of movement and Matt's career has been a great example of that. He started in Albany, Georgia, as an Anchor/Reporter before moving to Colorado Springs and Washington, D.C., after that.
During his time in the nation's capital, Matt provided coverage for 30 television stations across the country, covering critical stories at the White House, U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court. Aside from the day-to-day headlines, Matt reported on the 2020 caucuses in Iowa, the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue shooting and the 2021 presidential Inauguration. Since arriving in Boston, he has covered the 2024 presidential election cycle, including New Hampshire first-in-the-nation primary, the Democratic and Republican national conventions and claimed an Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Reporter, Daily News category.
While politics claims much of his time, Matt is passionate about a variety of different stories. He took home an Emmy nomination for his breaking news coverage of the Coastal Fire in his hometown of Laguna Niguel, California, and was catapulted off the USS Nimitz in a C-2 Greyhound for a feature report on the U.S. Navy.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys watching football or baseball and has crossed the finish line of five half marathons and four full marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 2025 after raising $11,000 for Boston Medical Center. He hopes to complete all six Abbott World Marathon Majors.
