NBC Connecticut Partnering For Comcast Cares Day

NBC Connecticut is stepping outside the newsroom and into the community to volunteer during Comcast's 17th Comcast Cares Day on Saturday, April 21.

During Comcast Cares Day, employees, along with their families, friends and community members are volunteering to clean up schools and nonprofits in their neighborhoods to make a change.

In Connecticut, Comcast expects more than 700 volunteers from across the state to help six sites. These sites are located in Bethel, Hartford, New Britain, New Haven, New London and Waterbury.

In Hartford, Comcast is partnering up with NBC Connecticut employees, as well as volunteers from the United Way, Urban League and other community organizations to make a difference at Alfred Burr Elementary School. Some of the activities will include landscaping, spring cleaning and painting.

Comcast is committed to improving the quality of life in the communities where our customers and employees live and work. Comcast Cares Day is one of the ways they demonstrate that commitment.

It started in 2001 with 6,100 volunteers. Since then, volunteers have contributed more than 5 million service hours at 8,800 projects in the United States and around the world.
