7/22: Shows, Sunflowers and Summer Concerts

Sunflowers, cajun music and... the Knights of the Round Table? Yes, it's all in a Wednesday night.

You've made it over the hump, just two more days to go, but if you can't wait until Friday to have a fun night out, here are some ideas:

Take in a little theater at the Goodspeed Opera House.  Go back in time and relive the legend of King Arthur, Guenevere, Lancelot and the Knights of the Round Table.  Performances are today at 2 and 7:30 p.m.  There are also other performances throughout the weekend.

The sunflowers are coming at Buttonwood Farm in Griswold.  The 10 acre plot of the bright yellow beauties is part of a fundraiser called "Sunflowers for Wishes."  You can come and get a beautiful bouquet.  Proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation.  Flowers are expected to start blooming this week and be in full bloom by the weekend.

Elizabeth Park in West Hartford goes cajun as the summer concert series rolls on.  Bring a picnic dinner and your dancing shoes and let loose tonight to "Cajun with River City Slim & Zydeco Hogs."  If it rains, the concert moves inside to the Pond House.

Have a great night!
